Conditions Treated
Cervical Myelopathy
Cervical myelopathy is a condition in which spinal cord cells in the neck region have died due to long-term compression of the spinal cord. It can cause severe and even irreversible loss of nerve function, including paralysis. Treatment for cervical myelopathy can relieve pressure on the spinal cord, alleviate symptoms, and prevent irreversible nerve damage from occurring. An early diagnosis is critical for a positive outcome.
Cervical Radiculopathy
Cervical radiculopathy is essentially a pinched nerve in the neck. A herniated disc or bone spur may pinch or compress the nerve root, causing symptoms such as pain, numbness, and weakness in the neck and/or arm. Treatment can improve quality of life and alleviate symptoms from cervical radiculopathy.
Spinal Stenosis
Spinal stenosis is a condition in which the bones and discs of the spine have become enlarged or arthritic and are compressing the spinal cord. Compression of the spinal cord can cause a wide range of symptoms and may eventually lead to permanent loss of nerve function (paralysis). Treatment for spinal stenosis can relieve pressure on the spinal cord, alleviate your symptoms, and prevent irreversible nerve damage from occurring.
Lumbar Disc Herniations
A lumbar disc herniation is a common back problem having to do with discs in the lower spine. These discs serve as cushions between the bones, and if they become torn or damaged (“herniated”), they can cause pain and related symptoms in the lower back as well as long-term compression of the nerves and spinal cord. Treatment can improve your quality of life and alleviate symptoms caused by a herniated lumbar disc.
Spondylolisthesis
Spondylolisthesis is a condition in which one of the spinal vertebrae shifts or slips out of place. The displaced vertebra may rest directly on top of another vertebra, and this can cause lower back pain, nerve injury, and further deterioration. Treatment can improve quality of life, alleviate symptoms, and reduce the risk of long-term spinal degeneration.
Scoliosis
Scoliosis is a medical condition characterized by an abnormal curvature of the spine. It can affect people of all ages, but it commonly develops during adolescence. Early detection and appropriate treatment can help manage the condition and prevent further progression.
Kyphosis
Kyphosis is a spinal disorder characterized by an excessive forward curvature of the upper back, which causes a rounded or hunched appearance. This condition can cause discomfort, pain, and limited mobility. Fortunately, with appropriate treatment, individuals with kyphosis can find relief and improve their quality of life.
