Dr. Paul Beck
Orthopedic Surgery

Dr. Beck is a Southern California native who has been practicing Orthopedic Surgery in Orange since 1989. His university studies began at UC Irvine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. UC San Francisco School of Medicine then followed, distinctive because it is where he not only received his MD degree, but also where he met his future wife, Huong Duong, M.D. He then returned to Southern California and UC Irvine for his Orthopedic Residency training.
Following residency, in 1989 he joined local Orthopedic surgeons Donald Ball, M.D. and Christopher Wills, M.D. in Orange. This group later became La Veta Orthopedic Associates, where Dr. Beck practiced for 26 years until he joined Orange Orthopedic Medical Group.
Dr. Beck is a Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with interest in knee and hip replacement, arthroscopy and fractures. He utilizes the MAKOplasty robotic system for hip replacement and partial knee replacement procedures.
In addition to his Orthopedic Surgery responsibilities, Dr. Beck has held many leadership positions, including Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Joseph Hospital; President of the Western Orthopaedic Association, Orange County Chapter; Secretary/Treasurer of the St. Joseph Hospital Medical Staff; Vice Chief of Staff of the St. Joseph Hospital Medical Staff; and Chief of Staff for St. Joseph Hospital. From 2014 until 2017, he also served in the position of Interim Chief Medical Officer at St. Joseph Hospital.
Dr. Beck is also an active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the California Orthopaedic Association, California Medical Association, and Orange County Medical Association.
In his time off, Dr. Beck enjoys traveling with his family, photography, and snowboarding. Recently he has also enjoyed going on medical missions in underserved countries.
